Monica Zent, is an attorney, MBA, entrepreneur and a pioneer. She has twenty years of experience in the legal, technology, media and content fields. Monica is the founder of ZentLaw which she formed in 2002 by re-engineering the conventional law firm. She created what has been referred to as the hybrid law firm by merging the efficiencies and flexibility of an outsourcing solution with certain key attributes of a law firm, offering a better way to practice for attorneys and a winning value proposition for clients. Today, ZentLaw represents some of the world's most well-known brands, supporting their key business initiatives, strategies and transactions.

ZentLaw’s transactional practice, which includes commercial transactions, government contracting, intellectual property law and licensing, and regulatory compliance, spans across a variety of industries such as biotech, clean-tech, internet, social media, gaming, technology, retail, consumer products and entertainment. Monica has been an accomplished commercial and licensing attorney for the past 15 years, having practiced in a global law firm and as in-house counsel in the areas of technology, media and entertainment earlier in her career.

Monica is also co-founder of Sierra Madre Investments, in which she has served since 2006 as Chief Operating Officer, a privately held real estate investment firm with holdings in residential, commercial and retail properties and business ventures.

Monica has been an entrepreneur for many years, having started a digital media and content company in the mid-90s which she later sold. She has created various inventions and in recent years, Monica has been involved, in an advisory capacity, in start-up ventures based upon concepts and business models she has developed in the internet sectors.

As a dedicated member of the community, Monica has actively donated her time and talent to many causes over the years such as the East Palo Alto Community Law Project, California Lawyers for the Arts, and educational initiatives. She has served on the Board of Directors of local organizations such as the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley and is active in a variety of charitable causes and foundations. Monica has been a frequent commentator on local television and radio, and her popular "Legal Minute" series can be heard on radio stations from California to New York.

Monica is a licensed California attorney, an executive M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and holds Bachelor of Science degrees, Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Santa Clara University.

A California native, Monica was in the U.S. Army R.O.T.C. and enjoys hiking, rock-climbing, kayaking and has been an avid marathon runner for twenty years.
