Walter Chang has over 30 years of successful experience in enterprise software and e-business innovation.  He is currently a Principal Scientist in the Advanced Technology Labs at Adobe Systems. Walter was responsible for the development of a computational linguistics and text analysis system used by Adobe business units to address the needs of online content publishers, marketers, advertisers, and creative professionals in the motion picture industry. 

Prior to Adobe, Walter was a Managing Director in the Media and Entertainment Division at Scient/Razorfish, an Engineering Manager at Oracle Corporation, and a member of the Extensible Database Group at IBM's Almaden Research Center.

Walter was a W3C representative for Adobe and a contributor to RDF-Schema, an industry metadata standard for the Semantic Web.  At Scient, Walter led an engineering team that developed Major League Baseball's Gameday visualization system, audio broadcast, and video streaming infrastructure that in 2005, 2006, and 2007 enabled MLB Advanced Media to generate respectively $236M, $317M, and $380M/year in revenues.

Walter earned his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley and his M.S. degree in Computer Architecture from Santa Clara University.  He currently holds 10 patents, 23 pending patent applications, and serves on the Program Advisory Committee for the annual Semantic Technologies and Business Conference.
