Ray Robidoux

Ray Robidoux is Co-Chair of the Deal Management and Screening Process for Sand Hill Angels.  Ray is also a Partner in the Sightline Group, a sales & marketing, “hands-on” consulting firm which works with technology companies in multiple customer segments and channels.  He over 20 years of management experience in the high technology industry, and an additional 10 years in the electrical equipment industry. Prior to the Sightline Group, Ray was the CEO of two startups, Asoka USA and Anthology Solutions, which developed products in the PowerLine networking and NAS storage markets respectively.

Previously, Ray was President of Netgear, a manufacturer of a broad range of networking equipment for homes and businesses, where he built the management team and prepared the company for its successful IPO in July 2003.  While there, he led the company's introduction of multiple media products and its entry into the service provider segment.

Prior to Netgear, Ray was the General Manager/Vice President of the NAS group within Quantum (Snap Appliance), leading the group to develop its first Linux based and rack mounted storage products targeted at SMB and Enterprise edge applications.  These products have continued to be the mainstay of Snap's more profitable business.

Before Quantum, Ray was at Compaq Computer for four years - two as VP North America Consumer and two as VP North America Strategic Business Planning and Operations. While in the Consumer position, he created a new "Affinity" sales channel, reaching $100M/year run rate within 9 months and built the direct online sales effort to over $400M/year.  In the Operation role, he was responsible for the integration of the Tandem integration into North America.

Prior to Compaq, Ray was at AST Research for eight years, serving in roles of increasing responsibility in the sales area of the company, culminating in Director of National Sales and Acting Vice President role for North America.  While there, he lead the company's first sales force automation effort, created their Channel Development group and packaged the sale of the Apple products group for sale.

Ray also spent five years with a partner building and running a real estate development company in Park City Utah.  Out of college, he was at Westinghouse Electric Corporation for ten years, in several sales and marketing positions which included first of a kind sales for multiple products at facilities such as Solar One and San Onofre 2&3 nuclear generation facilities.

Ray has an MBA from Pepperdine University and Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Cal Poly, Pomona.
