Syndication for purposes of capital pooling and risk sharing is a very important part of angel investments. The Band of Angels is Silicon Valley's oldest organization still dedicated exclusively to funding and advising seed stage startups. The Band is a formal group of 100 former and current high tech executives who are interested in investing their time and money into new, cutting edge, startup companies. Band members have founded companies such as Symantec, Logitech, and National Semiconductor and been senior executives at the likes of Sun Microsystems, Hewlett Packard, and Intuit. The Band meets monthly to formally consider three startups selected from among the more than 50 that are screened each month by the Band Deal Selection Process. Entrepreneurs can expect a thorough examination and, occasionally, an investment from some of Silicon Valley's most accomplished entrepreneurs. |

The Angels' Forum (TAF) has for 8 years employed a unique, highly involved model for angel (private individual) equity investing in emerging companies. TAF is a private group, capped at 25 seasoned investors, including individuals and as well as select corporate venture funds. TAF members also manage The Halo Funds, a family of early stage, classic venture capital funds which coinvest in TAF deals. TAF and The Halo Funds invest in technology, life sciences, consumer products and financial services businesses, typically staring with the "A" round. |
