George Jones

George Jones is Vice President, Sales at Raza Microelectronics, a producer of complex embedded microprocessors and communication access products. Prior to RMI, he co-founded and served as chief executive officer of Phase II Technical Sales, a leader among technical sales representatives. Phase II drove complex component and subsystem engagements with communication, computer, storage, and peripheral systems producers. Phase II worked closely with Altera, Fairchild Semiconductor, GlobespanVirata (now Conexant), Intel, LSI Logic, National Semiconductor QLogic, and Transwitch over the course of fifteen years.

Prior to founding Phase II in 1988, George spent seven years in key sales and marketing roles at VLSI Technology (later acquired by Philips), including Director of ASIC Marketing in the mid-1980's. At that time, ASICs were being defined in the industry and VLSI Technology developed a commanding market share in complex cell-based solutions with revenue exceeding $300M. George joined the company prior to its IPO. He was a sales and marketing engineer at Mostek (later acquired by ST Microelectronics) for three years previous to VLSI.

He co-founded Sand Hill Angels, a leading angel investment group in Silicon Valley. George earned an MBA at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor of electrical engineering at Georgia Tech. He lives in Silicon Valley with his wife Nancy and their five children, ages 4 to 21.
