Glen Balzer

Glen Balzer serves as Secretary and Treasurer of Sand Hill Angels, Inc. He has worked as a management consultant specializing in domestic and international marketing and sales; and as an expert witness specializing in manufacturers' representatives, representative agreements, industrial distributors and distribution agreements since 1999. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Be Here Corporation, a venture capital funded start-up company in Silicon Valley in 1998. Be Here manufactured hardware and software that enabled 360-degree panoramic images to be placed on the Internet. He served as Vice President, North American Marketing and Sales, at Philips Semiconductors, from 1994 to 1998. He managed a team of 420 people generating $900 million annually. Prior to Philips, he served as President of the Components Division and Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, at Western Micro Technology.

Prior experience includes a 19 year career at Advanced Micro Devices, where he held a number of management positions including: Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Asia Pacific Operations; President, AMD Japan, Ltd.; Vice President, Strategic Sales; and Vice President, North American Sales. He has been a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, (IEEE) since 1968, and a member of the American Management Association since 1977. From 1988 to 1992, he served as Director of the Semiconductor Industry Association, Japan Chapter, and served as its Chairman in 1990 and Vice Chairman in 1991. From 1988 to 1992, he served as a member of the Executive Committee of the American Electronics Association in Japan, as Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan, and as Director of the International Semiconductor Cooperation Center.

Mr. Balzer received a BSEE from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and an MBA from California State University, Sacramento.
