Rich has over 18 years of technology commercialization and marketing experience spanning both the bio/pharmaceutical and diagnostic/device industries.

During the last nine years, Rich has worked within three different divisions of Johnson & Johnson, including: Johnson & Johnson Medical (hospital supplies), where he was responsible for global Business Development activities, acquisitions and divestitures; LifeScan, Inc. (in-vitro diagnostics and devices), where he was responsible for Strategic Marketing activities, leading several new product commercialization and development activities, and most recently; Scios Inc. (biopharmaceuticals), where he is a Senior Director responsible for global Market Development, leading the market preparation activities and launches of an acute-care cardiovascular agent within International markets.

Prior to Johnson & Johnson, Rich spent five years at Merck & Co., Inc. where he held several positions of increasing responsibility within U.S. Sales and Marketing. At Merck, he was responsible for the Marketing of several products, with experience successfully launching both new molecular entities and indications within several therapeutic categories.

Rich began his career at Robertson, Stephens & Co. within the Healthcare Corporate Finance Group, assisting in the financing of biotechnology, medical device and healthcare services companies.

He received a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles and an MBA from The Wharton School.
