Mohammad is an engineer turned entrepreneur turned technology investor with over 23 years of experience in the technology and tech investment space.
Prior to launching Nama Ventures, a seed stage technology fund, Mohammad was the managing director of Tharwa Capital, a Dubai based financial investment and advisory firm focusing on the technology equity markets that transacted both on the buy and sell side.
Previously Mohammad was leading the Venture Capital practice at Global Investment House, a Kuwait based investment company. Prior to that, he was the Director of technology investments at Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA). Mohammad was also the founder and CEO of Sulaf Solutions, a technology solutions provider based in Silicon Valley. Prior to that, Mohammad held many roles in engineering and engineering management in US based technology companies.
Mohammad has worked and consulted for blue chip technology companies including Cisco System, Wilson Sonsini, Sun Microsystems, American Express, Excite@Home. Mohammed was also an early employee of Intergrated Information Systems, a company that IPOed (IISX) on the Nasdaq at the height of the Dot-com era.
Mohammed is an active Angel investor, a member of Sand Hill Angels (SHA), an advisory board member of LinkSV, an advisory board member of kyube.com, a member of TIE Silicon Valley Chapter, a member of OPEN, a member of VC Taskforce, and a founding board member of Techwadi.
Mohammad obtained his MBA from London Business School, has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University, and holds various technical certifications including CCIE, MCSE, CCSP, and MCDBA.
