A native of the UK with US citizenship, Richard offers a global perspective, having lived and worked in Europe, North America and Asia. He was most recently CEO of electric motorcycle start-up, Zero Motorcycles in California, a private equity backed company and had an extensive career at Hewlett Packard including running the consumer desktop PC business, a $6B piece of the overall PC business. Prior to Zero he ran product development and operations at Control4 Corporation, a leader in home automation where he helped get them prepared for their successful IPO in 2013. He has consistently been at the forefront of innovative new products and technologies: Electric Vehicles; “Touch” Software Platform for PC’s; “Internet Ready” Smart TV’s; and in home / remote control of audio and video content, lighting, security and HVAC via the cloud for the Smart and Connected Home. His passion is for consumer focused technologies and services that have the potential to disrupt existing / established industries. He currently lives and works in Silicon Valley where he provides executive advisory services to a number of start-up companies. He is also a guest lecturer at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University and for the MBA program at USF in San Francisco, focusing his work on international marketing and the humanity of business.
