How Mission Bio is Helping Outsmart Cancer, As Demonstrated by UCSF & Penn
By Charlie Silver, Co-Founder & CEO, Mission Bio
Cancer is smart. Yes, you read that right.
The disease isn’t intelligent in the traditional sense — but cancer cells are adaptable, ‘learning’ from their environment and constantly evolving to improve survival. While targeted therapy can be effective at first, this evolution means that treatment resistance and disease progression remain a challenge.
To effectively combat cancer — to both detect it sooner and develop the most impactful, dynamic therapies — we need to be able to understand it. This means tracking the progression of each and every cancerous cell.
At Mission Bio, we’re tackling this problem by giving researchers and clinicians the precision and resolution to look at disease origins and paths of progression.
Tivic Health’s ClearUP Treats Sinus Pain
By By Nancy Klosek, Dealerscope
Tivic Health Systems demonstrated at the recent Well Now! event in New York City a non-invasive device the size of a nasal spray bottle that it says uses bioelectronics to treat sinus pain caused by seasonal annoyances such as hay fever, and year-round annoyances like dust, mold, pollens and pet dander – without drugs: the ClearUP Sinus Pain Relief device ($149), being launched in late summer.
ClearUP, which received 510 (k) FDA clearance earlier this year, uses microcurrent waveforms to treat these conditions. The user moves the device on facial areas peripheral to the nasal passages – the brow bone, cheek and nose – and is prompted to move it along that path by a subtle feedback vibration.
